Welcome to Sahana Camp Roberts FOSS Disaster Management System
Sahana is a collection of web-based disaster management applications that provides solutions to large-scale humanitarian coordination in disaster events and its aftermath. For the Camp Roberts RELIEF experiments, we are going to be using several of these features of Sahana. Please follow these procedures to start using Sahana:
- Sign up for a new account link is on the left. Please enter your full name, a user name and password. After you submit your registration, enter your user name and password on the left to login.
- One person from each organization should go to the Organization Registry and Register an Organization with your information. The organization registry lists 'who is doing what & where' and allows relief agencies to self organize the activities rendering fine coordination among them.
- Once your organization has been entered in the organization registry, everyone should enter their details in the Volunteer Management module. Please enter at least one project for your organization and assign your staff to that project. You may also create intern positions for the NPS students who are here.
- Please use the Situation Awareness module to enter event information on the map. We'll be providing this data to some of the GIS systems used here to add to their data layers.
- Please use the Request/Aid Management System to log requests for supplies. Well try to fulfill them through the system. If there is something that you need that does not come up in the drop down lists, please add it to the Aid Catalog.
- Please use the Situation Report module for daily activity reports - one per organization. First create a report entitled yourorganizationname - date then use update to add a summary, list of activities, and successes and challenges.
